July 3, year 218, Rosemary Fritz

Today is a good day.

Crops are growing more this year than last, and it seems it's going to be like that from now on. John hasn't come back from the hunt with the young Kittle's boy. I don't like the fact that he hangs out with that kid, especially after what happened two summers ago. But John is a grown man. He is turning 18 next winter, and has followed his father's footsteps.

He can handle it, I think. If that young Kittle doesn't turn mad like before..

Anyway, all of the townspeople have chosen one member of each family to make a diary, a journal of what happens in the village, since the elders are worried that our story hasn't been written and we are losing our culture. I think it's a good thing we start writing about it, so that the young can have a taste of what life was before they were even born.

Our own young Fritz girl, Shannon, is giving birth soon, the Gert doctor says her and the baby are healthy.

Today is a good day for Valegont.
